U.S. Huntsville Land Office - index to final certificates issued, 1889-1892.

District land office Receivers issued final certificates to purchasers and homesteaders of public land after all necessary requirements were met (final payment made for land sold and final proof demonstrated for homestead applications). The final certificate signified that a land patent could be issued. This volume provides an alphabetical index to names of settlers to which certificates were issued and the corresponding certificate number. This index probably covers homestead certificates and provides easy access to names of settlers in the Huntsville Land Office area.
